Getting started with GB Query Enhancements is straightforward and only requires a few simple steps:
- Ensure GenerateBlocks is installed and activated. If you’re you have GP Premium or GenerateBlocks Pro, install and activate them as well.
- GB Query Enhancements will work with only GenerateBlocks free.
- Certain GenerateBlocks Pro and GP Premium features are extended or enhanced by this plugin (such as the
user_metaandloop_itemdynamic tags) so those plugins need to be activated to leverage those features.
- Download GB Query Enhancements from your account. Be sure to copy the license key or leave the page open to access it once the plugin is installed.
- Install and activate GB Query Enhancements (Dashboard–>Plugins–>Upload).
- Once activated, go to Dashboard–>Settings–>GB Query Enhancements. Paste the license key into the license key box and click Activate.
- Go to a post or page and insert a query block or one of the available variations (ex: Term Query, User Query, etc).
- If you choose a variation, certain block attributes (such as the Query Type) will be set for you automatically.
- Customize the available options for your needs.
For Term and User Queries, almost all of the available query parameters are available from WP_Term_Query and WP_User_Query respectively. As of now, meta_query (which allows you to query by multiple meta keys or values) is the only one that is specifically unavailable. This may be added in a future update to the plugin.
